Right then,
Abit about the bora, it’s the 1.9TDI red I 100bhp with single mass flywheel,
Got the bora with the intention not to mod it because it was for driving to work,
But within the first week of having it I blacked out the windows and stuck some very shabby trims on as the vw ones were fooked,
Looked like this:
So then I was bored with how quiet it was, so I thought hmmm dump valve so that was next to be put on,
Wasn’t such a good idea to have it point down so I soon moved it so it was along side the rocker cover,
Then it was time to change the tacky trims for some golf alloys barging for £120
Next came the badge less grill and eye brows
After that I wanted to get it slammed was way too high for my liking,
So I got some coilovers and did just that,
Once I had slammed it then came the problems, so far I have destroyed 15 drive shafts abit like this:
then came the sumps im currently on the third one, cracked one smashed a hole in the other in the snow, the snow was bad news for low cars hahaha,
This is what my car looked like in the snow on the way to work,
I got about a mile down the road in an hour n give up n took me 1hr 30mins to get back home after digging myself out 2 dozen times,
In-between breaking things I got some Skoda VRS 16" alloys had them power coated black
One day I decided to find out why the AC wasn’t working to well and too my surprise when I took a look at the rad it was in a bit of a bad state,
So after talking the front end off I could then see the damage,
How the hell the person before me did that I don’t know, I also changed the tensioner and belt well I was at it,
Im also on my third set of coil-overs iv had 2 struts fail on me one rear one front, maybe down to cheap coilovers,
Just recently I have put the new smoothed bumper on,
The car had a little make over about 6 months ago,Dump valve has now gone due to the novelty had long worn off, im sure alot of you would be thinking why put the valve on a diesel anyway, all i can say is we all have our moments!!
Also i got a skit plate from the US made after i destroyed my last sump, i was bored of changing them, this cost me 500 notes all in,
but well worth it as you can see.
To try and combat the drive shaft/CV joint issues which im still getting,
I changed the ARB to an after market one which solved the issue of the ARB sitting on the drive shafts, but not the breaking of CV joints, along with the arm all the mounts and wish bones have been replaced.
I have just got a set of poly bushes for the wishbones because there is still a bit to much movement in them which is not helping.
I missed out that i have an EGR valve bypass pipe on too, this solves the problem of the valve clogging up with crap.
I got a new bonnet as the other was a tag rusty, this was the perfect opportunity to try my hand a vinyl wrapping
for my first attempt it wasn't to bad.
i put the original grill back on too
Also picked up a bonnet bra and a TRS tow strap
