| Nice I shall say no more, for fear of the wrath of Cali No more. Nothing. I'm saying nothing at all. About being a dealer and North West Mapping centre for Specialist Components. Yes, thats right, nothing at all about these guys that make lovely stuff for the classic mini -> www.specialist-components.co.ukNot a word. Nothing. | |

| Well Daniel... thats cool, i'm after turbo'ing the mini next year (££ pending) so i may need something from them. Though im only getting a megasquirt for ignition not really for running as its carb and tbh lightening things is cool but not always warranted. Need some weight to put the power down. Lets face it, a 650kg mini cant always afford to lose any. MinBin is about 90% recycled tank is pretty much the same. | |

| Honestly Emz, take it from 12 years experience of engine management systems. Loose the carb. It doesn't help in any way, shape or form. Its a relic. Even single point injection is a huge improvement If you are buying a MegaSquirt (as opposed to a MegaJolt, which is purely ignition) then it makes no sense not to utilise its full feature set, and MegaSquirt is an excellent little Fuel & Ignition ECU. | |

| I dont do injection carbs are easier to fiddle with, and mini electrics are shit. The majority of turbo minis run carbs. Our cars only see a garage for a rolling road set up, I plan on keeping it that way. SPI/MPI minis are poop, taken from a man with 20+ years of autograss racing - he will always choose carb. I'm a crank, piston rings and rebuild away turbo conversion... and those are purely to run the bhp im aiming for, if i settled for lower its about ready to go. I just need to send the head off for some more smoothing - its good for high revving normally aspirated right now, but it will not suit a turbo. I must be doing something right, at Stage 1 tune the mini was better than your average 1275. Swapping from HS to HIF has helped though, far more tweakable. | |
